Raxio Ethiopia marks a significant milestone as Ethiopia's first state-of-the-art, carrier-neutral data center. Strategically located on the outskirts of Addis Ababa within the ICT Park and along major fiber routes, this facility is designed to catalyze the region's digital transformation. It directly addresses the burgeoning demand for colocation services from large software companies and the dynamic small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) ecosystem across East Africa, serving diverse sectors including enterprise, financial services, telecommunications, and media.

The facility boasts an impressive capacity, capable of accommodating up to 800 racks within its 2,000 square meters of whitespace. At full build-out, Raxio Ethiopia is equipped to deliver 3 MW of total IT power. It offers a wide range of power options for clients, with capacities per rack ranging from 4 kW up to a maximum of 21 kW, providing highly flexible solutions for varying client density requirements.

Built to a core Tier III standard, the data center prioritizes maximum uptime and reliability through robust redundancy. This includes 2N UPS redundancy, N+1 cooling redundancy, and N+1 standby power redundancy. This concurrent maintainability ensures that any component can be taken offline for maintenance without impacting the critical IT loads, a key characteristic of its Tier III certification for design and functionality. The facility also targets a low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.3.

Security is paramount, with the facility featuring seven layers of physical security. This comprehensive system includes a fenced perimeter, CCTV surveillance, biometric access control, and card access control. Fire safety is managed by an automatic gas suppression system protecting the data hall and all technical areas. Hyper-connectivity is guaranteed by its location near Ethio Telecom's Point of Presence (PoP) and the inclusion of a dedicated Meet-Me-Room (MMR), positioning it as a major hub for digital traffic exchange.

Raxio Ethiopia provides comprehensive operational support with 24/7 onsite security staff and 24/7 onsite technical staff. The technical environment is meticulously controlled, with cooling systems built to minimum N+1 resilience, and humidity maintained within the recommended range of ASHRAE TC9.9 for optimal equipment performance. The purpose-built facility offers scalable solutions with the flexibility to create bespoke environments, including shared rackspace, partial and full cabinets, cages, and suites.
