The Hellas Sat Teleport, located in Kofinou, Cyprus, is a state-of-the-art satellite communications facility. This purpose-built, multi-tenant site spans 30,000 square meters and serves as a critical hub for a wide array of connectivity solutions.
Equipped with over 30 antennas, the teleport possesses significant technical capabilities. It supports a comprehensive range of frequencies, including C, Ku, and Ka bands, allowing for versatile service offerings. The facility also features a raised floor design, expandable whitespace, and roof access.
The teleport's strategic geographical location provides a distinct advantage, ensuring access to a broad viewable arc from 105° East to 37° West. This positioning facilitates seamless connectivity to numerous European and international Points of Presence (PoPs).
Designed for continuous service, the Hellas Sat Teleport has been operational since 2008. It runs 24/7/365, supported by an onsite Network Operations Center (NOC). Both onsite technical staff and onsite security staff are present around the clock to ensure reliability.
The facility is engineered for high availability with robust infrastructure, reflected in its Tier 4 design. It features 2N redundancy for UPS, cooling, and standby power systems. The site's power capacity includes 1 MW live, 2 MW under construction, and a fully built-out potential of 4 MW.
Physical security is comprehensive, featuring a fenced perimeter, mantrap entry, 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and multi-layered access controls (biometric and card-based), alongside automatic fire suppression. The teleport also provides amenities such as a Meet-Me-Room (MMR), conference rooms, office space, and a loading bay.
Reflecting its commitment to global standards, the facility holds the highest certification from the World Teleport Association (Tier 4). It is also certified in multiple ISO standards, including ISO 45001 (Safety), ISO 27001 (Info Security), ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity).
