Construction of the new A1 Croatia data center in Zagreb, Croatia, commenced in October 2020, with an investment of €11 million ($13 million). A1 Croatia contracted Vertiv Croatia to lead the development of the facility. The data center is situated at the intersection of Većeslav Holjevac Avenue and Nežićeva Street and became operational in 2021.
Facility Specifications and Capacity
The facility spans 2,000 square meters (21,500 sq ft) of fully built-out whitespace. When operating at full capacity, the data center is designed to house up to 300 IT cabinets across six technical rooms. The available cabinet options include Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suites Footprints, with Remote Hands services also provided.
Power and Resilience
The data center has a maximum power capacity of 2 MW, powered by its own substation which utilizes two independent sources for enhanced reliability. Critically, the facility is engineered with a strong focus on resilience, specifically designed to withstand earthquakes up to a magnitude of 9 on the Richter scale.
Tier Design and Peering
The data center's design adheres to the Tier 3 standard, and it is also certified as Tier 3. It offers whitespace expandable capabilities and connects to two peering networks.
