GDS is a prominent investor and operator of high-performance data centers across major Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Suzhou Kunshan, and Chengdu. The Data Centre offers a comprehensive range of services from wholesale to colocation, complemented by IT service offerings based in its data centers. GDS currently owns and operates over 15 data centers, with both existing purpose-built facilities in locations like Shanghai, Kunshan, and Chengdu offering colocation and private suites, and new projects under construction dedicated to wholesale solutions. The wholesale model is customizable and cost-effective, providing units from a power-base building up to fully customized spaces (units, floor, or building), with adjacent sites available for phased future expansions. Additionally, GDS offers built-to-suit solutions on pre-approved, power-connected land in strategic locations like Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Suzhou Kunshan, Shenzhen, and Chengdu, ideal for IT, cloud deployment, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

The GDS Kunshan Data Center is a purpose-built, multi-tenant facility operational since 2011, strategically located for large IT and cloud deployments, and suitable as an easily accessible disaster recovery site away from Shanghai. It offers a fully built-out whitespace of 6,000 sq.m., accommodating Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suites. The facility's design is based on Tier 3 standards and features expandable whitespace and a dedicated Meet-Me-Room (MMR) for connectivity.

The data center supports a maximum power density of 3 kW per rack. The Tier Design of the Kunshan facility is Tier 3, which generally implies redundancy and multiple, independent distribution paths for power and cooling systems.

Security measures at the Kunshan Data Center are robust, including a fenced perimeter and 24/7 onsite security staff. The facility is equipped with CCTV surveillance to monitor the premises at all times, ensuring a highly secure environment for customer IT infrastructure.

The Kunshan Data Center operates under a multi-tenant model and includes a Meet-Me-Room (MMR), which is crucial for carrier and cloud-neutral connectivity, allowing tenants to access various telecommunication carriers and cloud service providers for low-latency, high-speed interconnection. The GDS Kunshan Data Center has achieved several significant certifications, validating its commitment to high operational standards: it is Tier 3 designed, ISO27001 Certified for information security management, ISO22301 Certified for business continuity management, and holds LEED Gold certification, recognizing its environmentally conscious and sustainable building design.

GDS provides various deployment options beyond standard colocation, including private suites and customized wholesale solutions, emphasizing flexibility and cost management for customers' capital expenditure (capex) and operating expenditure (opex). The Data Centre offers Design-Build services, leveraging in-house experts to reduce risk, cost, and time for customers requiring built-to-suit data centers on the company's strategically located and pre-approved land resources.
