The Serangoon Data Center, launched in 2012, holds the distinction of being the first self-built and self-managed data center outside of Japan. Designed as a smart building with state-of-the-art green features, the facility successfully drives down operational costs and minimizes environmental impact, earning it the prestigious Green Mark Platinum Award from BCA. Its location is highly convenient, situated only 20 minutes from Singapore Changi International Airport.
Facility Capacity
The data center has a Fully Built-Out Power capacity of 2.7 MW, which is also its Live Power. It offers 2,600 sq.m. of Fully Built-Out Whitespace for customer equipment within a Total Building Size of 6,500 sq.m. across 3 Building Floors. The Floor Type is Raised Floor, designed to handle a Max Floor Load of 1000 kg/sq.m.
Facility Specifications
Operating with a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.5, the facility is built to a Tier 3 Design. The Firesupression System uses FM200 gas fire extinguisher + VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) for Automatic Firesupression.
Redundancy and Reliability
The Serangoon Data Center employs an N+1 level of redundancy for its critical infrastructure. This includes UPS Redundancy (with an N+1 standard area and 2N in high density areas), Cooling Redundancy (Air-cooling with UPS support for high density space), and Standby Power Redundancy (24 hours without refueling capability).
Scalable Colocation Options
Customers have a range of flexible colocation options, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, and Cages. The facility also offers Remote Hands service for on-site assistance.
Security and Compliance
Security is maintained 24/7 by Onsite Security Staff. Access control features include a Mantrap Entry, CCTV surveillance, and Card Access Control.
