Cologix (TOR5) Data Center

Cologix TOR5 is a premier enterprise grade digital edge data center situated in Markham, Ontario, strategically located just north of Toronto’s downtown core. This Tier III designed facility is purpose built on a single floor layout, featuring a 17 foot clear height and a 24 inch raised floor system to optimize airflow and equipment management. While the facility currently operates across 40,000 square feet of live whitespace, it offers significant scalability with an additional 80,000 square feet available for future expansion, allowing it to accommodate approximately 1,000 cabinets through dedicated pods.

The site is engineered for high density requirements, supported by 3MW of hydro power and a current UPS capacity of 2.2 MW configured at N+1 redundancy. To meet growing enterprise demands, there are active expansion plans to increase UPS capacity to 3 MW. Reliability is a core focus, as evidenced by an N+1 generator system backed by a 5 day onsite fuel supply, ensuring that mission critical operations remain uninterrupted even during prolonged utility outages.

Environmental stability is maintained through a sophisticated N+1 cooling solution that utilizes Liebert CRAC units. The facility employs cold aisle containment strategies to maximize energy efficiency and hardware longevity. Beyond its current configuration, TOR5 has integrated plans for additional chilled water solutions to support higher density deployments, while the dual interlocked pre action fire suppression system provides an extra layer of protection for sensitive electronic equipment.

Security at TOR5 is rigorous and multi faceted, designed to meet the highest industry standards for asset protection. The perimeter is secured by a fenced boundary equipped with alarms, while the building entrance features a bullet proof mantrap and anti pass back protection to prevent unauthorized tailgating. The facility is monitored 24/7 by onsite security guards and technical staff, ensuring a constant human presence to complement the physical barriers and surveillance systems.

As a major interconnection hub, TOR5 provides diverse Metro Connect and Metro Fiber links to Cologix’s primary carrier hotel at 151 Front Street. This connectivity grants tenants access to a massive ecosystem of over 160 networks and more than 50 cloud providers. Notably, the facility serves as a gateway for major cloud onramps, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, making it an ideal location for hybrid cloud architectures and low latency data transfers.

Operational excellence is backed by a local support team and a 24/7 Network Operations Center NOC that offers Remote Hands services for technical assistance at any hour.
