EVOLINK AD (Sofia 2) Data Center

The Evolink Data Center Sofia 2 is a purpose-built, sole-tenant facility that became operational in 2013. It is strategically located outside of industrial zones, 25 minutes from Sofia Airport, and is easily accessible via two main roads: Okolovrasten pat Str. (Sofia round road) and Tzar Boris III Blvd. The building is designed for high security, situated at ground level with no windows or external signs.

The facility provides 300 sq. meters of fully built-out whitespace, specifically designed for data center operations. It includes a loading platform for equipment and features a 600 mm raised floor, which is kept clear of power and telecommunication cables. This floor is engineered to support a dispersed load of 1000 kg per cabinet. Additionally, roof space is available for the installation of satellite antennas.

Physical security is multi-layered, beginning with a three-level access control system that requires biometric readers, PIN codes, and RF ID cards. The facility is monitored by 24/7 onsite security staff and 360-degree video surveillance around the perimeter. Further video surveillance with digital recording is active at all entrances, exits, and in the passages between racks. All equipment is housed in 800mm/1000mm locking cabinets.

The data center operates with a highly resilient 0.4 MW power system, designed to Tier 3 standards with a 2N+1 UPS redundancy and achieving a PUE of 1.59. It features diverse A&B power supplies distributed via a busbar system, backed by a latest-generation Emerson UPS. A 600 kW diesel generator provides 24-hour backup at full capacity, supported by a 24/7 fuel delivery contract.

Strict environmental conditions are maintained by a highly efficient, N+1 redundant free cooling Climate Control System. Temperatures are kept at 22°C (+/- 2°C) with humidity levels stable between 45-55% RH. The power supply for this system is also reserved by the diesel generator, ensuring continuous operation.

The facility is protected by advanced safety systems, including flood detection sensors within the raised floor. Fire protection is handled by two separate, independent fire-detection systems. This includes a Very Early Warning Aspirating Smoke Detection (VESDA) system and an automated gas fire-extinguishing system that uses NOVEC 1230, an agent with zero effect on the ozone layer. All entrance and exit doors are fire-resistant metal.

The data center offers flexible colocation options, including full and partial cabinets, shared rack space, and cages, with a maximum power of 10 kW per rack. Onsite 24/7 technical staff provide "Remote Hands" support. In addition to traditional services, the center provides video transcoding, content delivery, and network security services. It is ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified, houses a Meet-Me-Room (MMR), and offers access to 1 Internet Exchange Point, 10 peering networks, and multiple network providers.
