As one of the few high tier data centers in Northern Brazil, the João Pessoa facility stands as a critical hub for regional connectivity. This four story, 20,000 sq. ft. edge data center was entirely designed and constructed by HostDime to meet stringent international standards. Beyond its physical footprint, the facility is designed for versatility, offering deployment options for standard racks, private cages, and even rooftop antenna space to meet diverse telecommunications needs.

This ensures a high level of redundancy and concurrent maintainability. The facility acts as a major interconnection point, featuring redundant underground fiber optic points of entry to protect against physical link failure. HostDime maintains a robust network ecosystem with multiple major telecom partners and access to eight peering networks. This carrier neutral approach ensures that clients have access to alternate networks, providing the low latency connectivity essential for modern edge computing.

HostDime guarantees a 99.99% uptime through a sophisticated electrical architecture featuring 1.5 MW of fully built out power. The system utilizes a dual A and B electrical distribution path and a primary feed of 13,800 Volts. In the event of a utility failure, the facility relies on an N+1 parallel generator system capable of producing over 2000 kW, supported by a massive 22,000 litre reserve of diesel fuel to ensure continuous operation.

To maintain optimal hardware performance, the data center employs 400 tons of independent air cooled chiller systems with N+1 redundancy. The cooling strategy utilizes a 1 meter raised floor for cold aisle containment, driven by the latest generation of energy efficient variable speed EC fans. This precision air handling allows the facility to maintain a Power Usage Effectiveness of less than 1.5, balancing high density cooling with environmental consciousness.

Security at the João Pessoa site is rigorous, combining physical barriers with high tech surveillance. The perimeter is protected by razor wire and 24/7 on site security personnel, while the interior features mantrap entries and dual authentication access controls. To enter sensitive areas, users must pass through both card readers and biometric face recognition systems, all while being monitored by an extensive 24/7/365 video surveillance network.
