Penta Infra (BRU01)
Opened in 2024 in the Green Energy Park in Zellik, northwest Brussels, the nine-storey Penta BRU01 data center (formerly Nexus) spans 10,000 sqm in total area, with 3,500 sq.m. of dedicated IT whitespace. It was designed in collaboration with anchor tenants the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Free University of Brussels) and the Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussels (Brussels University Hospital). The facility is one of the most sustainable in Europe, is carbon-neutral, and has achieved triple-certification: BREEAM 'Excellent', EDGE Advanced status, and Uptime Institute Tier III for Design and Operational Sustainability.
Power Infrastructure
The data center operates with a 7.2 MW IT load, supplied by a 12.5 MVA renewable power feed. It runs on 100% renewable power with an optimized PUE design. Sustainability features include a photovoltaic facade generating up to 0.5 MW, rainwater recuperation for cooling, and 100% heat re-use via a thermal smart grid. The facility offers medium, high, and extreme power-density modules and will house the VSC Flemish Supercomputer.
