Located in the city of Salzburg, the Conova Communications Data Center is a purpose-built, sole-tenant facility that has been operational since 2019. Designed to host more than 10,000 servers, it delivers advanced, high-availability infrastructure and a comprehensive range of data center services supported by 24x7 operations and highly qualified on-site staff.

The facility features 600 sq.m. of fully built-out whitespace with a total power capacity of 1 MW. It offers a variety of colocation options, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suite Footprints, with Remote Hands services available. The design includes a raised floor structure and is whitespace expandable, allowing for future scalability. Amenities such as conference rooms, breakrooms, office space, crash carts, loaner tools, Wi-Fi, and parking are also available for tenant convenience.

The data center is equipped with dual redundant power feeds from the utility, supported by dedicated 30kV transformer stations. The UPS system provides N+1 redundancy, while standby power redundancy operates at N. Cooling infrastructure is designed for N+1 redundancy, ensuring reliable temperature management across the facility. Each rack supports up to 12 kW of power, with an average density of 3 kW per square meter, and the site achieves an impressive Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.4, reflecting its operational efficiency.

Security is managed through a two-stage system that combines electronic access control with biometric hand-vein verification. Additional security measures include a fenced perimeter, mantrap entry, CCTV surveillance, card access control, and onsite security staff during business hours. The data center utilizes a highly advanced VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) coupled with a fully automatic fire suppression system based on nitrogen, providing robust protection for critical infrastructure.

Conova’s Salzburg data center is a carrier-neutral facility, offering multiple meet-me rooms and access to a large selection of network providers (4 in total). It also supports one peering network, ensuring optimal interconnectivity and low-latency connections for clients.

The facility is EN50600 Class 3 and ISO 27001 certified, demonstrating adherence to rigorous European data center standards and information security management practices. It is also designed and operated to meet Tier 3 specifications, ensuring a high level of fault tolerance and system reliability.
